Howard Marshall III was born on 6 February 1936 in San Francisco, California. He spent his early life with his family. He had one brother, E. Koch has four sons, Fred Jr, William Koch, Charles Koch, and David Koch. After the death of Fred C. Koch, Four brothers started fighting for the  Koch Industries in 1980. Howard II said his son, Howard Marshall III returned his 4% stake in Koch Industries. Howard Marshall III sold the stake back for $8 million. After the death of Howard Marshall II, he went to court against his brother,  E. Pierce. Howard Marshall III claimed that his brother had stolen his stakes. E. Pierce proved Howard Marshall III wrong in the court. Howard Marshall III felt guilty for the fraud.  The judge ordered to pay  $35 million in damages to his brother in 2002. He was forced to declare bankruptcy in July 2002. E. Pierce Marshall died in 1995. His wife Elanie Marshall inherited the 16% stakes in Koch Industries. This makes her one of the richest businesswomen in America.
