Jennifer Kate Berry, whose parents are Jackie Joseph and Ken Berry, an actress in The Doris Day Show and an actor in Mama’s Family, Mayberry R.F.D., and F Troop was as well an actress in Dr. Kildare died in Toluca Lake, California, on September 21, 2020, due to natural causes.
Early Life
This proud teacher was born in Los Angeles and was transported into her celebrity prepared life by actors Jackie Joseph and Ken Berry who officially adopted her and her one-year old brother John. Born in Hollywood, California she was brought up in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, and went to Miss Connie’s Nursery School, Oakwood School as wells Belmont Prep.
She graduated from University of Southern California, and from Studied Philosophy at Claremont Graduate University. She cherished her students to a fault, and was latest teaching at Glassell Park and Annandale Elementary School.
Relationship
Jennifer remarried in 1985 to Bill Bateman; the drummer of the rock and roll band ‘The Blasters’. Alas the marriage did not last long, but the wedding was one for the history books. The bride and groom also had a sweet and simple wedding ceremony at the Little brown church in the valley.
The reception held at her father’s house and Brenda Thompson, his then partner, was a merged blend of Mayberry and contemporaries. Her father was working on Mayberry RFD and Andy Griffith was socializing with Blasters Dave and Phil Alvin members of Los Lobos, The Go Go’s and other well-known punk rock artistes.
Adding to this cast, and as regulars of L. A. D. I. E. S. (Life After Divorce Is Eventually Sane), viewers got to watch ex-wives of Gene Hackman, George Segal, Jerry Lewis, Flip Wilson and Leonard Nimoy. From beauty competitions, circus and exaggeration it was beautiful, bizarre and a blast.
About Her Parents
Joseph originates from Los Angeles County in California. Her mother was 19 at the time of Joseph’s birth, and her father had died 3 months prior to Joseph’s birth. Fellow education was obtained at Los Angeles’ John Marshall High School and University of California- Los Angeles (UCLA).
In 1977, Joseph became a fashion show producer. He produced the Western Children Brand Wagon show. Youngsters dressed in 85 different outfits and an audience of 600 was treated to watching the youngsters model the clothes. He also gains some fame in that show.
Berry was born August, 1933, in Moline Illinois to Swedish/English parents, Darrell Berry and Bernice Larson Berry. He was 12 years old when he decided to become a dancer, a singer when he watched a children’s dance during a school assembly.
Then he dreamt of acting in the musicals and to achieve this he would often visit the movies to watch Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly in his favorite movies such as Easter Parade, Royal Wedding, On the Town, and Summer Stock. Berry passed on due to heart related issues in Burbank, California on December, 1, 2018 at the age of 85.
